— About me, social media, and how to get in touch
Composer/performer Kristina Dutton works in a wide range of musical settings, moving freely between more traditional concert settings and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Her rigorous classical training led her toward a brief career in orchestral work, but she soon gave herself over to her love affair with the art of pop music, writing string arrangements for indie bands and performing with rockers like Glen Hansard, Peter Bjorn and John, and the Autumn Defense. She has performed on more than 40 albums of various genres.
In recent years her interest has focused on composition inspired by science, dance, and visual works. Her current work includes film scores and collaborative live multimedia performances with videographers, visual artists, and scientists.
She is also co-director/co-founder of an experimental outdoor education project bridging art practices and environmental education.
Awards include The Zellerbach Foundation, The Andy Warhol Foundation, The Precipice Fund, The Intermusic Musical Grant Program, The San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music Fund, The Fleishhacker Family Foundation, The SE Uplift Neighborhood Foundation, and resident artist at Oregon State University’s Spring Creek Program.
