Current project at Nanoscapesfilm.com

Kristina Dutton follows her curiosity through various forms of creative expression, from sound and image to environmental engagement and written word. Her work emerges from careful observation, often exploring connections between sensory perception and natural phenomena.

Drawing upon her conservatory training and work in science journalism, she creates lyrical, observational works that bridge intellectual curiosity with sensory experience.

Projects have included Creek College, a multi-year environmental collaboration supported by Portland State University and indigenous organizations; Ice Hours, a multimedia Antarctic exploration with photographer Camille Seaman and filmmaker Kim Misckowicz; and Nanoscapes Films, exhibited at films festivals and museums internationally. Her musical work spans genres and includes contributions to over 50 recordings, with performances at venues from Chicago's Symphony Center to The David Letterman Show.

Her projects have received support from organizations including New Music USA and The Andy Warhol Foundation. She grew up in Chicago and now lives at the edge of Point Reyes National Seashore, overlooking Tomales Bay.
